The segment, "St. Patrick's Day", references the Norwegian folktale "The Lindworm Prince", also known as simply "The Lindworm". While there are several versions of the folktale, the version anthologized in the seminal Asbjornsen and Moe Collection is the most popular one. The folktale tells of a queen giving birth to a snake creature and when the creature is born, it flees into the land. When the creature grows up, it becomes a prince.
