Originally, Bill Murray's character Martin Heiss died after being thrown out the window, but in editing, Paul Feig changed his mind and omitted any reference to Heiss' death. In Andrew Shaffer's movie tie-in book, "Ghosts from Our Past: Both Literally and Figuratively: The Study of the Paranormal," there is a foreword written by Heiss in which he states that the Ghostbusters are not frauds, and laments the medical bills he incurred as a result of not believing them.
