Jim Carey & Tommy Lee Jones didn't have to put much effort into their characters' mutual dislike as neither actor could stand the other, with Tommy Lee Jones constantly trying to upstage Jim Carey only to have his portrayal be unfavourably compared to Jim Carey's acting abilities.
