Shrek was adapted into a stage musical in 2008 with music by Jeanine Tesori and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. The original cast included Brian d'Arcy James as Shrek, Sutton Foster as Princess Fiona, Daniel Breaker as Donkey and Christopher Sieber as Lord Farquaad. A high definition recording of Shrek the Musical (2013) was released on DVD/Blu-Ray and on streaming in 2013.
