At the beginning of the film, when John (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy (Vince Vaughn) are going over their plan to get into Christina Cleary's (Jennifer Alden's) wedding, one of the Senators was 2008 Republican Presidential nominee John McCain. The man next to McCain in that scene [who gets a hug from Claire Cleary (Rachel McAdams)] is Democratic strategist James Carville.
