Because Dolores has super hearing, she has to do everything quietly. During Antonio's party, she is seen clapping with her index fingers and covering her ears whenever things get too loud. She never raises her voice higher than a whisper - save for the dinner/proposal scene, when she purposely shouts out Mirabel's secret in an effort to stop Isabela's engagement to Mariano. After the house breaks down and everyone loses their powers, Dolores seems the least sad about losing her gift. This is because she is finally free to speak and sing as loudly as she wants.
