However, the song warns that the cat will fail to prey on this goldfish, and the goldfish will prey on the cat. This foreshadows the film's finale, where Julia has genuinely fallen for Grigoris, and her seduction plan backfires. Also the "naive" Grigoris with the fish-like expression, turns out to be much smarter than he looks.
