When Lena Olin was interviewed for the film by Brian DePalma to play Maria Ruskin, she did not know who Tom Hanks was. It wasn't until he named a few films he'd been in, including the hit comedy "Big" in which he received an Oscar nomination for, that she had remembered by uttering "Yes. Big that's a comedy right?".
