The series was initially co-produced by Thames Television (1968-1992), a franchise holder which broadcast its programs to London and its surrounding areas. Thames lost its franchise rights as of January 1993, as rival company Carlton Television had outbid them in an auction over said rights. Within 1993, Thames became a subsidiary of Pearson Television and ceased production of its shows.
