The attack on Wayne Manor may have been inspired by Bane's attack in the first part of the "Knightfall" story arc. In both stories, a villain discovers Batman's secret identity, infiltrates Wayne Manor, knocks Alfred unconscious, discovers the secret entrance to the Batcave, trashes the place and leaves Bruce severely injured.
