The movie shares some similarities to Quentin Tarantino's later movie Once Upon A Time in Hollywood (2019) both films are set in a similar time period, both are set in California and both mention the Manson murders, although Tarantino's film has the Manson murders as actually being part of its plot. Tarantino also directed one of the flashbacks in this film
