Whether intentional or not Margot Kidder plays Barbara Collier in this film, a character with a similar name to her Black Christmas (Un Natale rosso sangue) (1974) character Barbara Coard. Rob Zombie has stated that the original "Black Christmas" is one of his favorite horror films.
