For Pat to join the group he would have taken his boat from the East Coast to the West Coast of USA. In S2 we see him dropping off Mike on the East Coast. In S3 we meet him again in the West coast. With the pandemic causing total lack of services the Panama Canal would not have been operational. He would've had to have travelled around the South American Cape or circumnavigated around the globe to have travelled to Malibu. *Correction. Pat mentions bumping into Lewis and Darrell after navigating the Northwest Passage.
