Initially Ajay Devgn planned to produce the Hindi remake of Jigarthanda with Sanjay Dutt and Farhan Akhtar acting in it and late Nishikant Kamat directing it but the project failed to materialise and later Sajid Nadiadwala bought the rights adapted the film in Hindi as Bachchhan Paandey.
