During the fourth season, Ernest Borgnine played a double role on the show. He played McHale's cousin Giuseppe in Un equipaggio tutto matto: Giuseppe McHale (1965) and Un equipaggio tutto matto: The Return of Giuseppe (1965). Joe Flynn also played a double role in Un equipaggio tutto matto: Alias Captain Binghamton (1963), playing Capt. Binghamton, and Seaman Smoot.
