When Dave is trying to pick up the Grimhold near the end of this film, the scene is reminiscent of the opening of I predatori dell'arca perduta (1981) where Indy tries to gauge how to much the gold statue weighs. In this film, Dave rubs his chin thoughtfully (just as Indy does). When Dave picks up the Grimhold, he immediately looks up to see if the ceiling will collapse (as it does in I predatori dell'arca perduta (1981)). The iconic scene from I predatori dell'arca perduta (1981) stars Alfred Molina, who plays Horvath in this film.
