The crew size was intentionally kept small which was producer-director Rolf de Heer's preferred way of working. "Although you lack resources and infrastructure, the upside of working with a small crew is fantastic," he said. "It's all a much better process, communication and moving around is so much easier, and therefore increases shooting time and helps with making decisions quickly".
