When asked during a 2013 interview why Alice Eve suddenly strips to her underwear in what some feel is a gratuitous scene, Damon Lindelof, who co-wrote the film's screenplay, said "Well, there's a very good answer for that. But I'm not telling you what it is, because... uh... mystery?" He also pointed out that Kirk was shirtless in his underwear for two films, yet no one brings that up. In an interview in 2020, when asked about that scene and other films she has made, Eve admitted scenes like that don't bother her, because she has no problem showing flesh or even performing nude, because it's part of the job.
