The address given in the telegrams sent by Sandra Dee's character to her parents, 1343 Amalfi Drive, Pacific Palisades, is the address of the house that was actually used for the exteriors of the Michaelson house. Real estate records show that the single-storey ranch shown in the movie was torn down and remodeled in 2005, but the houses across the street that appear behind Dee while she's painting, are still there at the northwest and northeast corners of Amalfi and Romany Drives.
