Saga of the Redheads: In The Homecoming: A Christmas Story (1971), the actors playing the children (all of whom reprised their roles in the series) had red hair. For the series, only the natural redheads Jon Walmsley, Eric Scott, Mary Beth McDonough and Kami Cotler had red hair while Richard Thomas, Judy Norton and David W. Harper returned to their natural hair color. Michael Learned had her hair dyed red when the show started but eventually reverted to her natural blonde color after a few seasons.
