The sound of the Martians' ray guns seems to be very similar to the sound that aliens emitted when raising their hands as built-in ray guns against their opponents in the TV episode The Outer Limits: The Children of Spider County (1964). United Artists created the TV series that this episode came from. The sound is also similar to the sound of the Martians' ray guns from the Paramount Pictures film La guerra dei mondi (2005).
