In the January 2015 Television Critics Association winter press tour panel, Robert Carlock and Tina Fey said that their aim was to make the show with the tone of "TGS Hates Women", an episode of 30 Rock (2006), in which Liz exposes a female comedian who's actually on the run from her psycho ex-boyfriend.
