Three years later, Howard Keel was loaned out to Warner Bros. for Non sparare, baciami! (1953) co-starring Doris Day. That project, clearly inspired by the success of Annie Get Your Gun (1950), often led to comparisons between the two films, both of them musical biographies depicting female heroines with western themes.
