When David Fincher met with Daniel Craig about taking the male lead in this film, it was on the set of Steven Spielberg's Le avventure di Tintin - Il segreto dell'Unicorno (2011). Craig was wearing an all-in-one motion capture body stocking at the time, and that was one of the factors that convinced him that he didn't stand a chance to land the part.
