Martin's sword in this show looked significantly different compared to its version in Redwall and Mattimeo. In the book series, it is explained that Martin's sword-blade was shattered when he arrived in Mossflower Woods, leaving only the hilt. A new blade was eventually forged from meteoric iron and attached to the old hilt, creating the sword that would be used in Redwall and Mattimeo.
