Many episodes are centered around a wild animal: a turtle that apparently saves Jesse's life, a ferret that terrorizes DJ and Stephanie, a horse DJ tries to own, an elephant Joey rents for Michelle's third birthday, a chimpanzee Danny's sister owns, a pig Stephanie and Michelle take care of for a neighbor, a parrot that flies into Stephanie's and Michelle's bedroom, a donkey Michelle buys with money from her lemonade stand, and an ostrich Kimmy buys from her uncle. On Fuller House, DJ helps run a pet clinic.
