Ethna casting Elora Danan down the river on a makeshift raft to be found by Mims and Ranan Ufgood mirrors the story of Moses from the Bible. Baby Moses was put into a basket by his mother Jochebed; she put the basket in a river and Pharaoh's daughter found the basket. She drew him out of the river, and adopted him. Val Kilmer later provided the voice of Moses in the animated feature film Il principe d'Egitto (1998).
