The first Star Wars movie without Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca. Mayhew played him for the final time in Star Wars - Il risveglio della Forza (2015), and then retired from the role due to poor health. He died in 2019. Joonas Suotamo had already played Chewbacca's body double in The Force Awakens, and took over from Mayhew on the subsequent movies.
