Max and May are the only main characters (besides Ash) to have a prominent role in a Pokémon movie, doing so in Pokémon: Jirachi Wish Maker (2003) and Pokémon Ranger e il Tempio del Mare (2006), respectively. Until Pokémon: Jirachi Wish Maker (2003), all other movies had either Ash and/or a character of the day with the lead role.
