The pistol Barbara Bach brandishes in Egypt is a .25 caliber Beretta. The .25 caliber weapons are looked down upon by all military as not being powerful enough to be reliable stoppers, but they are used occasionally as last-ditch weapons, and by clandestine operators because of their small size. This is also possibly an homage to the novel Bond's first sidearm, a Beretta 418 in .25 ACP.
