Throughout the series you can see a couple of tourists named Charles and Mary, who are usually victims of the experiments they confuse with the fauna of Hawaii, as stated by executive producer Jess Winfield in his thread TV questions and answers Tome. Charles and Mary are based on executive producer and partner Bobs Gannaway and his wife.
