According to Michael Chabon, early drafts of the script prior to his involvement featured Doc Ock, Black Cat, The Lizard, and Harry as the new Green Goblin. It was his suggestion to cut down the number of "costumed characters" to just Doc Ock and Spider-Man. Dr. Curtis Connors did appeared in the film who was portrayed by Dylan Baker, but never became the Lizard. That didn't happened until The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) which featured Rhys Ifans portraying Dr. Curtis Connors/The Lizard. While the character Felicia Hardy did eventually appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Il potere di Electro (2014) who was portrayed by Felicity Jones, but the character never went by her alias of Black Cat or was ever depicted as a cat burglar.
