On March 27, 2002, the special non-fiction episode "In Their Own Words", which told the real stories of the police officers, firefighters, paramedics, emergency services personnel, and their families in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, received the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting.
