Tom Ellis insisted that he would not be making a cameo in Crisis on Infinite Earth. It was only sheer luck that he was able to. He and Matt Ryan (John Constantine) knew fans wanted the scene, so they managed to shoot it while on a lunch break while filming their respective shows in Vancouver. In it, not only does Lucifer recognize there are multiple earths, but he also establishes a long history with Constantine.
