Eventhough the Moroh and Granolah sagas are canon but not referenced in the film to avoid spoilers and confusion, Goku and Vegeta mention that they want to become powerful enough to defeat Jiren since they believe he's the most powerful foe they had fought. This is not a plot hole for Broly, Granolah, Gas and Moro, even Frieza at the end of the Cereal Saga, had been powerful enough to give them a hard fight, Goku and Vegeta were able to defeat them and they were foes at their universe while Jiren is the most powerful foe known in the 12 universes and he contained most of his power to not to kill nobody at the Tournament of Power and get disqualified.
