A musical theme that can be heard during the march to the sea and later, in a more developed form, during the end credits is the traditional song "Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram". The song is a reference to God and His love as embodied in King Ram. This was Mahatma Gandhi's favorite song. He changed the lyrics to include a reference to the oneness of religion, that states that the God of the Muslims and Hindus is one and the same. This was the song that was sung by Gandhi's followers during their march to the sea.
