Author/Programmer Grady Hendrix (Horrorstor, Satan Loves You, etc) recommended the film to his peers at Subway Cinema who programmed the film at the New York Asian Film Festival in 2013. The film had two screenings, including a midnight slot which also screened Roy Ward Baker's Asylum (1972), whose "Frozen Fear" episode was a big influence on Ilarde while making The Fridge.
