Though the film originally had two release dates that were subsequently derailed by COVID-19, the film's official release date ended up being June 24, 2022. Precisely 45 years earlier, on the same date, Elvis Presley broke up a fight between three teenage boys at a gas station. This event occurred several weeks before his passing. After 1 A.M. on June 24, 1977, Elvis and his entourage, who were traveling in two limousines, were on their way to a hotel in Madison, Wisconsin, after landing from a grueling show in Des Moines, Iowa. While the limousine he was riding in stopped at a red light on Highway 51, Elvis noticed two teens holding down and threatening another teen, who was a gas station attendant. The assault was occurring on the forecourt of the Skyland Service Station. While witnessing the assault unfold, Elvis said to his bodyguards, "Look at those two punks. I don't go for this two-on-one deal." Indignant, he felt the need to intervene. But his bodyguards tried to discourage him from getting involved and warned him that the situation could be potentially dangerous. They promised him that they will call the police to handle the situation. However, just as the limo was moving after the traffic light changed to green, Elvis decided to act and jumped out of the car. He made his way to the three teens and struck a karate pose. He exclaims to the two offenders, "I'll take you two on!" The three boys looked up and were left stunned once they realized who had entered the situation. Elvis eventually calmed the boys down and shook their hands, asking, "Is everything settled now?" The boys vowed to never fight again. Before being escorted back into his limo by his bodyguards, Elvis shook hands and signed autographs with the small crowd that formed during the incident. A roadside monument was created to commemorate the event.
