At the movie's March 2002 World Premiere at the Empire Theatre in Leicester Square in London, Ali G (Sacha Baron Cohen) wore a gigantic velvet cape with a crown adorned upon his head and was escorted by half a dozen nearly fully naked women. Their outfits were comprised of fake marijuana leaves glued onto nude coloured trousers.
