Despite its length and detail, the film does not feature, probably the most significant film Spielberg made as an amateur film -maker. When he was sixteen, Spielberg wrote and directed "Firelight", a two-hour science-fiction epic, his first to be shot on the more professional 16mm format with sound post-dubbed with a 16mm projector.It attracted a lot of praise and attention for the young Spielberg and was the direct inspiration for Close Encounters Of The Third Kind and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.
