All of the dialogue spoken by Tony Jay (Monsieur D'Arque) heard in this movie was recorded during his audition. He gave two readings. The reading heard in this movie was using what Jay called his "Masterpiece Theater voice". This brief role led to him being cast as Judge Claude Frollo in Il gobbo di Notre Dame (1996), another movie directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise and set in France, as well as featuring David Ogden Stiers in the cast.
