(However, in some countries it was given a less restrictive PG-13 equivalent rating.) In North America, it surpassed the nineteen-year record holder Beverly Hills Cop - Un piedipiatti a Beverly Hills (1984) as the highest grossing R-rated release, though it would be surpassed by La passione di Cristo (2004) less than a year later.
