A direct-to-DVD animated sequel was released the year after this film, titled Kangaroo Jack: G'Day U.S.A.! (2004). This time when poachers kidnap Jackie Legs from the Australian Outback, Charlie and Louis must rescue him. Their attempts to save him route them back to the U.S. into the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas. It's centered more around the talking kangaroo and is considerably more family friendly.
