Sprite's betrayal over resentment at staying a forever child comes from the Neil Gaiman "Eternals" comics. While in the films she seeks to end the world so that she can start over through getting her memory wiped by the Celestials, in the comics she wiped her fellow Eternals' memories and made them human.
