This became the highest-grossing film of all time in 2010, and held the record until surpassed by Avengers: Endgame (2019) in 2019. This film then retook the title thanks to a 2021 re-release in China, making it the fifth film in history to break the record multiple times, after Nascita di una nazione (1915) (in 1915 and 1940), Via col vento (1939) (in 1940, 1963, and 1971), Guerre stellari (1977) (in 1977 and 1982), and E.T. - L'extra-terrestre (1982) (in 1983 and 1993).
