Ian Beale attempted suicide twice in the soap. In 1990, Cindy Beale exposed to Ian the terrible truth that Steven Wicks was not his son and that she had an affair with Steven's biological father Simon Wicks and he attempted suicide by crashing his van into a ship and in 2015, Ian tried to commit suicide again by jumping off a bridge following the murder of his daughter Lucy, but Jane stopped him.
