Comedian Bernie Mac has a strong supporting role in this film playing Kid's "Uncle Vester". His character is the brother of Kid's deceased father Pops, who was played by comedian Robin Harris in the first film in the series. His role as Vester is similar to Harris's role as Pops, providing blunt wisdom and curt guidance to Kid, as well as irreverent comedy relief.
