This is the second of two film versions of Lolita. In this one Jeremy Irons plays Professor Humbert Humbert. The earlier Lolita (1962) stars James Mason as Humbert. Irons played Sherlock Holmes in a comedy sketch on Il Saturday Night Live: Jeremy Irons/Fishbone (1991). Mason played Holmes' constant companion, Doctor Watson, in Assassinio su commissione (1979).
