The Federal Association of Gypsies (F.A.G) sent an official protest to Edwin and Summer Brown, stating that the film was prejudicial towards the gypsy community. The portrayal of gypsies as lustful, unsophisticated and dangerous "presented the typical stereotypes perpetrated about our people". The statement highlighted the dialogue that "Gypsies always go away... permanently" as particularly offensive. "We are proud and not going anywhere!
