At the same time that Wendy and Danny walk around the maze, Jack is seen looking at a scale model of it inside the hotel. The position of the camera, in a perfect Bird's Eye shot, allows the audience to see the huge size of the maze. According the camera downs following the Bird's Eye, it is revealed Wendy and Danny at the center of the maze looking for (and finding) the way to exit. When at the end of the film Jack chases Danny into the maze, getting lost and freezing to death while Danny is able to escape, there is any Bird's Eye shot to avoid that the audience can trace a map of the maze in the mind and know where are inside the maze Jack and Danny. Very interestingly, the fusion of both scenes (Jack watching the maze and Wendy and Danny walking by it) creates the illusion that Jack is not watching the maze, he is watching Wendy and Danny.
